I wonder if 3rd country nationals were allowed to apply for a visa in the past in Mexico.
I came into the U.S. 8 years ago on F1 visa, graduated, found a job and got status changed to H-1B. It's odd to see people like me will not be allowed to apply for a H-1B visa in Mexico.

In the past , murthy lawyers have also claimed to have successfull MTR cases but that hardly created any awareness among USCIS about the AC21 law that they are not supposed to directly deny AOS if underlying I-140 gets revoked. Although we hope its good news but I doubt that this is going to make any difference to any future AOS applications whose I-140 get denied.

If you stopped payment on individual checks (My banks charges $30 for each check stoppage) it would have been denied eventhough USCIS tried to cash it (instantly as it is electronic transaction).That you received receipt notices means, the checks went through, and your application is considered properly filed.
If stopped as a batch of checks (it is free of charge with my bank), it would still go through, despite your stoppage request, as it is like paper check.
So to be absolutely certain, you should stop them individually if you want to stop payment on the 2nd set of application too.
Looks like you are indeed very lucky to have got things in order despite your attorney's best efforts to screw up!

One of the forum member AbhijitP has a signature that I could not understand. Can anyone give me a little bit more info on his signature.

Does it mean that his I-140 is approved under EB-2 or EB-3?
So if someone has applied under EB-2, how come it is approved as EB-3

It would be interesting to know the "process" used to legalize the illegals. If getting a GC when you're illegal is easy, I'd tear my H1 and stand in the USCIS illegal line.

IMHO, Father & Son "feels" better, while Solitary Fisherman would be the best technically if it were cropped tighter (moreso on the left and top, being careful on the latter to avoid centering him or getting him high in the frame). To me, the rest of the shots have too much distracting material in the background (including Solitary #2, though that one is not as bad as the others, and the distracting element could be "solved" in Photoshop if the contest allows this ;)).
Edit to add more thoughts: If anyone tells you that you suck, keep practicing and prove them wrong (they're probably jealous anyway because they're even worse). I still have trouble with distracting backgrounds - that's probably the most frequent reason I send frames to the circular file, after technical errors (exposure, focus, etc.). Practice, not hundreds or thousands of frames per day of thoughtless practice, but concentrated, thoughtful practice, engaging the mind and paying attention to what's in the viewfinder (and what isn't, and what shouldn't be), is the way to improve. :)
